Cupid’s Dart
CULTURE. The Greek name κατάνάγκη (or Katanagke) for Cupid’s Dart refers to the historical use of this flower in love potions.
COLOUR EFFECT. Many wild flowers are Porcelain white because it’s one of the most visible colours for insects. Like an airstrip, the Violet marks the insect’s path leading to the Ochre detail at the finish. The colour combination has a strong light-dark contrast, as can be seen in the interactive animations below.
